The people in the city of Chicago aren’t dumb — they’re sick of being used and abused by the political elite, just like the rest of the American people.
In a fiery show, residents showed up in force to a recent Town Hall meeting to say they’re backing President-elect Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans, demanding Democratic Mayor Brandon Johnson cooperate… or be arrested.
“The feds need to address you! The DOJ needs to address you! And hopefully Donald Trump will address you,” resident Tyjuan Sims declared.
The stunning scene comes after 2024 voting results show an immense spike in support for Trump in many previous Democratic strongholds.
Chicago spent $400 million on over 42,000 illegal immigrants since August 2022, with $253 million going to a single Kansas-based healthcare staffing company. Johnson’s recent proposal for a $300 million property tax increase to fund illegal immigrant giveaways was unanimously rejected by the city council 50-0.
“We’re in a billion-dollar deficit, and you spent half of that on illegals,” resident Danielle Carter told Johnson. “You campaigned that you would not raise property taxes, and here we are right now.”
Johnson, who vowed to resist Trump’s planned deportation program, faced multiple residents calling for federal intervention.
“You told Trump you won’t blink? Well, we ain’t either. You’re not above the law,” said David Mason.
The crisis has intensified with public safety concerns after reports that Chicago Police arrested more than 30 Tren de Aragua gang members, all illegal immigrants from Venezeula, over two years.
All the gang members arrested were subsequently released due to Illinois’ elimination of cash bail and the city’s sanctuary policies.
After weeks of negotiations, Johnson’s administration has now proposed a reduced $68.1 million property tax increase to fund illegal immigrant services in Chicago.
The mayor’s handling of the crisis has sparked particular outrage as residents question prioritizing illegal immigrant services over the needs of American citizen amid Chicago’s massive budget deficit.
Take a look —
Chicago residents have had enough of Mayor Brandon Johnson. They are no longer afraid to speak up.
