Retired Democratic leader Harry Reid does not want this video getting shared — because it’s proof of how insane the Democratic Party has become in the last decade.
In the footage, Reid insists on the Senate floor that the United States would be “insane” to let illegal immigrants have a pathway to citizenship.
“No sane country would do that, right? Guess again. If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with citizenship and guarantee a full access to all public and social services this country provides,” Reid said in the 1993 address to Congress.
“That’s a lot of services. Is it any wonder that two-thirds of babies born at taxpayer-funded county hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?” Reid asked.
This was, of course, before Democrats realized that illegals could be used as political allies.
