Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-H.I. should have seen this coming a mile away…
Gabbard destroyed Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. back in the 2nd 2020 Democratic debate.
Harris was a party favorite gaining momentum in the polls — that is, until Gabbard pointed out Harris’ lousy record on criminal justice reform as attorney general of California.
So Gabbard should have known that the Democratic National Committee would be out for blood. It was only a matter of time, now that a favorite of theirs has been picked on. Never mind the fact that she already has her work cut out for her, being the closest thing to a conservative among her Democratic counterparts…
Now, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is doing what it does best.
It’s trying to rig the 2020 primaries — and the DNC is looking to silence Gabbard at any cost.
To make the cut for the next round of presidential debates in September, a Democratic candidate has to have at least 130,000 individual donors and reach at least 2 percent in four qualifying polls.
Gabbard has enough donors… and, according to her campaign, has met the 2 percent threshold in 26 national and early state polls.
The only problem? The DNC has released a list of “approved” polls — and it’s excluding almost every poll where Gabbard has done well.
The DNC is discarding major polls from the Boston Globe and even Suffolk University. In fact, DNC officials are claiming that only two polls where Gabbard is polling well, meet its criteria.
That means, barring a miracle, Gabbard won’t make the September debates, and her campaign will be finished.
And that’s exactly what the DNC wants.
The whole scandal brings back fresh memories of 2016, when the DNC was caught rigging primaries in favor of Hillary Clinton, at the expense of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-V.T.
That incident nearly broke apart the Democratic Party — and the DNC promised this time would be different.
No such luck.
Gabbard’s campaign is up in arms, claiming the DNC has not even released the criteria for which polls count, and which don’t.
How’s that for transparency?
Gabbard’s spokespeople say they’re also concerned about “numerous irregularities in the selection and timing of those polls.”
Of course there are irregularities. The DNC is rigging the primaries again to get rid of troublemakers.
Like we said, Gabbard should have seen it coming a mile away.
