Less than two weeks after facing DUI charges, pop star Britney Spears is back in the headlines. Reports quickly surfaced of an erratic dinner in a Los Angeles restaurant that witnesses described as chaotic and “kind of sad.”
The 44-year-old singer visited Blue Dog Tavern on Wednesday night with two companions, where multiple witnesses told TMZ she raised her voice, began screaming, and at times was barking.
At one point, a witness told TMZ that Spears walked past their table holding a knife, sparking fear she might accidentally injure someone. Staff were also forced to intervene after Spears lit a cigarette at the restaurant entrance, and asked her male companion to have her put it out.
Most diners, sources said, didn’t even realize it was Spears until after she left — at which point it became the talk of the restaurant, with patrons saying it was “something that would only happen in L.A.”
Spears’ team pushed back on the report, telling TMZ the accounts were wildly distorted.

The incident comes 12 days after Spears resolved her March drunk driving arrest through a plea agreement that reduced the charge to “reckless.”
Under the terms of her deal, she received 12 months’ probation and must continue mental health and substance abuse treatment, including sessions with a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month. She had entered rehabilitation at Borden Cottage in Camden, Maine following her March 4 arrest.
