Democratic presidential hopefuls are gathering their political allies together and seriously ramping up their primary campaigns as 2019 begins — but one top Democrat just saw her 2020 hopes die before they even started.
Hawaii’s Tulsi Gabbard was seen by many insiders as a front-runner heading into what promises to be a wild 2019 Democratic primary.
She’s a connected, well-funded Democratic insider with her finger on the pulse of America… but Fox News just dropped a bombshell on her campaign that killed it before it even began.
And it’s proof that the Democratic Party has swung further left than anyone could have imagined.
Turns out during Gabbard’s early political career, she was outspoken that homosexual marriage was a sin and said she wanted to defend traditional marriage in the United States — and it has the far-left furious.
“It is highly likely that federal judges will soon be tearing apart our U.S. Constitution in order to force same-sex marriage down the throats of the people of Hawaii and America,” Gabbard told the Hawaii Christian Coalition a few years back. “The only way to protect traditional marriage in Hawaii and throughout our country, the only way to stop activist federal judges from rewriting our constitution, is by the passage of the Federal Marriage Amendment.”
Even though such an idea is popular with many American voters, it’s a non-starter for Democrats.
Consider that we’re talking about the political party that wants to pass federal laws making transexuality a protected class.
Gabbard claims now that she has “evolved” and supports homosexual marriage. “First, let me say I regret the positions I took in the past, and the things I said,” she told CNN.
Of course, that’s not the only skeleton in Gabbard’s closet.
Rolling Stone magazine reported that Gabbard met with Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad in 2017 — after he’d used chemical weapons on his own civilian population.
The news has the far-left of the Democratic Party up in arms, and they’re calling for Gabbard to withdrawal her presidential bid.
Seems Gabbard’s 2020 hopes may have been killed before they even started.
