Democratic Representative Maxine Waters has made a name for herself calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
But it looks like her 15 minutes of fame is about to come to an end, according to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
And a sudden shock to her shaky political stock could mean big trouble for Waters.
Following the appointment of former Bush appointed FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel in the investigation of Trump’s alleged Russian ties, Carlson told his viewers, “somebody better tell Maxine Waters that her dream just died.”
Her dream, of course, being that she has been right all along and Trump deserves impeachment.
But Carlson is sure the appointment of Mueller will stop that fantasy in liberal la-la-land.
“Former FBI Director Mueller is an adult,” Carlson said of the 72-year-old former marine and bronze star recipient.
“Mueller has nothing to prove, and that may be the most important quality in someone with a nearly unchecked power of a special counsel. He’s earned reputation of rectitude. He doesn’t, in other words, need to make a name for himself, he’s got one already. If there isn’t a crime at the bottom of all of this, he’s unlikely to manufacture one in order to save face as so many other prosecutors are tempted to do.”
While Democrats have called for a special counsel for months, they unsurprisingly stuck to their anti-Trump playbook and are now acting furious with the choice of Mueller.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi issued a statement complaining about the choice. “Mueller cannot take the place of a truly independent, outside commission that is completely free from the Trump Administration’s meddling.”
While majority of politicians in Washington approve of the choice, there will always be the anti-Trump loyalists that will never approve of a Trump administration action, regardless of the logic behind it.
For Waters, Pelosi and other anti-Trump liberals, the appointment of Mueller could officially squash the Trump-Russia rumors and bring in end to their impeachment dreams.
And that would make them look very, very bad… right before the 2018 election.
Should Maxine Waters resign in disgrace?
If President Donald Trump is proven innocent, should Waters be forced to resign her position?
