In March, President Joe Biden held a campaign fundraiser at New York’s Radio City Music Hall where Democrats raised over $25 million, a single-event record, after Biden appeared alongside former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Now, Biden has seen former President Donald Trump’s fundraising numbers surpass his own… and he’s tapping Bill Clinton again.
Former President Clinton and former State Secretary Hillary Clinton are set to headline yet another Biden fundraiser next month, Axios reported Monday.
Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe — President Clinton’s campaign chair — will reportedly host the Jun. 18 event at his house in McLean, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C. According to Axios, First Lady Jill Biden is also set to attend.
Attendees can buy either a ticket to the reception or a more expensive ticket to the dinner afterward. Ticket prices have yet to be confirmed.
Biden has relied on former presidents not just as a candidate, but also as an officer of the state. He invited both Obama and Clinton to attend Thursday’s state dinner for Kenyan President William Ruto.
Democrats Hillary Clinton and Terry McAuliffe have amassed less-than-enviable records in past elections. Clinton lost both her presidential races, and McAuliffe lost his 2021 bid for Virginia’s governor.
Biden may be appearing at the Virginia fundraiser without Obama, but the president has other plans with his former boss.
On Jun. 15, Biden is set for a “conversation” with Obama in Los Angeles, Deadline reported earlier this month.
Talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel will be moderating, with appearances from Hollywood vets George Clooney and Julia Roberts.
Ticket prices range from $250.00 to $500,000.00. Ka-ching.
Biden maintained a fundraising advantage over Trump until April, when he pulled in just $51 million to Trump’s $76 million.
