A former United States senator is warning that a vote in November for former Vice President Joe Biden may not actually be a vote for Biden at all.
Instead, liberal Americans could be setting up Biden to tear him down in the end.
In other words: Elect him, then replace him with a radical candidate of their choosing.

“Within a few months of assuming the presidency, Biden may find himself being the next statue toppled as the socialist/progressive movement moves closer to power,” former Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) wrote in The Hill.
And that person, he warned, could then force a socialist agenda on the nation.
Gregg said Biden has already vowed to pick a woman as his running mate. But much more significantly, Biden “may be cornered into choosing a socialist or progressive.”
That, Gregg said, could set the stage for a “coup” via the 25th Amendment.
“His colleagues could declare him too old to handle the presidency and remove him,” he wrote. “The Cause will have been completed. Power will be fully in the hands of the statue-removers, the social justice police and those who see America’s political history as basically evil.”
Many are taking notice – not just because of the message, but also because of the messenger.

Gregg is not a diehard President Donald Trump supporter. Just last year, he wrote a column in The Hill ripping into the president’s “erratic and narcissistic style” and said Trump is not a conservative.
Gregg was never an arch-conservative himself.
His 73 percent lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union ranks him alongside Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Ak.) and his 65 percent conservative rating from the National Journal matches that of Sen. Susan Collins (R-N.H.).
In other words, Gregg is a middle-of-the-road Republican – someone who has typically been considered moderate.
On the other hand, the odds of any of his predictions on this coming true are pretty remote.
There are essentially two ways the 25th Amendment could be used here.

One would be Biden essentially giving up – admitting “that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” and elevating the vice president to acting president.
That’s rather unlikely.
The other case, however, is even less likely as he would first need to be betrayed by much of his hand-selected cabinet. If the vice president and a majority of the cabinet determine him unfit, the vice president can take over.
But that’s temporary – and just the first step.
If Biden were to contest that, the matter would then go to the Congress for a vote – where not only does Biden continue to have plenty of loyal allies, especially in the Senate, but where BOTH parties would need to cooperate as the 25th Amendment requires two-thirds majorities in both the House and Senate.
And the Red State website notes that there’s simply no incentive for the GOP to assist to help the Democrats’ self-destruction.
“If anything, Republicans should want Sleepy Joe to serve out his full term in the belief that he’ll be too old and tired to run for a second one, leaving the next Democratic nominee without that incumbency advantage,” wrote columnist Allahpundit. “Running against Harris or Warren with two years as president under her belt would make the odds of winning steeper for GOPers.”

It would also be highly unexpected and unprecedented.
But over the last four years, the highly unexpected and unprecedented have become increasingly common.
Or as Gregg wrote in The Hill: “Look over your shoulder, Joe. Watch your back. Donald Trump is not your most threatening problem.”
