Well, it’s official.
Democrats don’t trust President Joe Biden, and their latest move proves it.
Ranking liberal lawmakers have signed a letter urging that Biden give up his access to the U.S. nuclear launch codes.
It would seem they don’t trust him.
As of now, Biden maintains sole control and authority of the keys necessary to launch a nuclear attack in case of emergency.
Politico reports that the official letter was pushed by Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., who stressed in the letter that letting the launch codes rest with one individual poses a great danger to American interests.
“Vesting one person with this authority entails real risks,” the letter reads.
“Past presidents have threatened to attack other countries with nuclear weapons or exhibited behavior that caused other officials to express concern about the president’s judgment.”
“While any president would presumably consult with advisors before ordering a nuclear attack, there is no requirement to do so. The military is obligated to carry out the order if they assess it is legal under the laws of war. Under the current posture of U.S. nuclear forces, that attack would happen in minutes.”
For example, if the threat of nuclear warfare by North Korea or Russia ever became an increasingly likely premise, Biden could drag America into armageddon.
All it would take is a senior moment…
Instead, the letter explores alternate options such as the requirement of other top officials like the Vice President or House Speaker access.
So while it’s not necessarily cause to celebrate the idea that this would hypothetically involve Vice President Kamala Harris or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gaining access to the codes, it’s admittedly a better assurance than the gaffe-prone Biden.
And Democrats know this.
The Horn News has talked extensively about Biden’s mental gaffes, and if you pay attention to how Democratic leaders are treating the president, it would almost seem as if they read our articles.
