Does the phrase “basket of deplorables” sound familiar? It was the famous gaffe made by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign when she described supporters of President Donald Trump.
Trump voters rallied around the term and adopted it as their own. In the end, “deplorables” helped solidify Hillary’s defeat in the election.
Gaffe-prone presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has his own “deplorables” moment Thursday. During an online forum on race relations, Biden said he believes “10 to 15 percent” of Americans are simply “not good people.”
In other words, Biden thinks 33 to 49 million Americans are evil.
The comment quickly went viral, and social media users were quick to respond —

Some Biden supporters rallied around.
One user said it was “generous” to describe only 40 million Americans as evil, and that she believed forty percent of Trump supporters were actively engaged in racism.
Fox and Friends is feigning outrage that Biden said "10-15% of Americans aren’t very good people."
1.) he's being generous-Trump's base is about 40% and actively engaging in racism
2.) it's a Hillary basket of deplorables shaming all over again
3.) @HillaryClinton was right.— Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule) June 5, 2020
Another backed up the claim, and said 10 to 15 percent of Americans are homophobic, evil white supremacists —
