Rep. Jackie Walorski, R-Ind., died tragically in a traffic collision last month, along with congressional staffer Emma Thompson.
But President Joe Biden seems to have forgotten about that.
At a White House conference, Biden apparently asked the deceased Walorski to identify herself.
“I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Representative McGovern, Senator Braun, Senator Booker, Representative Jackie — are you here? Where’s Jackie? I think she was going to be here,” Biden said.

Biden made the remark at a White House conference on hunger, the first such conference on this issue since Richard Nixon’s presidency 50 years ago. He expressed his administration’s goal to end hunger by the end of the decade.
Some Biden supporters argued that Biden was talking about either Sen. Jacky Rosen or Rep. Jackie Speier.
However, Walorski co-chaired the House Hunger Caucus with McGovern. She helped to call this conference, and she co-sponsored legislation with all the other congressmen mentioned by Biden.
The White House has acted as if Biden was referring to Walorksi.
White House adviser Susan Rice took the stand after Biden, and she mentioned Walorski’s death, according to The Hill.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged Biden’s remark as a reference to Walorski.
“The president was naming the congressional champions on this issue and was acknowledging her incredible work,” Jean-Pierre said at a press conference Wednesday.
Biden is set to dedicate at Veterans Affairs clinic to Walorski on Friday, according to Jean-Pierre.
“I don’t think it’s all that unusual to have someone top of mind, especially as there’s a big event — two big events, today and also Friday — that’s going to occur,” Jean-Pierre said.
Some conservatives question whether Biden is suffering from cognitive decline. Other conservatives say that he has “always been this dumb.”
Biden has amassed a long record of misremembering roles and names. Still, he says he considers himself fit for the job.
“If you think I don’t have the energy level or the mental acuity, then, you know, that’s one thing,” Biden said on 60 Minutes earlier this month.
“Watch me.”
"She was at top of mind…"
