Eddie Driscoll — an actor known for his roles in “Entourage,” “Mad Men,” “Sex and the City” and “Days of Our Lives” — has died at the age of 60.
Driscoll’s friend, the actor Jimmy Palumbo, confirmed the death Tuesday in statements to People magazine and The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor died from a saddle pulmonary embolism on Dec. 15 after months of fighting stomach cancer, Palumbo revealed Monday.
“He could do it all – sing, dance, act, comedy,” Palumbo told People on Tuesday. “He worked all the time. He was always booking work. Everyone that worked with him loved him.”
Discroll studied at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre in North Palm Beach, Florida.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Driscoll worked alongside not only Reynolds, but also television icon Carol Burnett. He even acted alongside Reynolds in 1989’s “Physical Evidence” and “Breaking In.”
Palumbo recounted Driscoll’s memorial service in a statement to People.
“His friend base was pretty interesting,” Palumbo said. “I call it the underbelly of L.A. showbiz. There were stars in the room, there were working actors, but there was also this underbelly.”
As a working actor, Driscoll amassed acting credits across a wide array of T.V. series, from “Desperate Housewives” to “This Is Us” and from “Boston Public” to “The King of Queens.” He also acted in a touring production of the musical “Jersey Boys.”
He also hosted events at the Fox Fire Room, a karaoke bar in California’s Valley Village.
