Tobias Dorzon, a celebrity chef who has been featured on the Food Network and owns two Washington D.C.-area restaurants, was shot during an attempted armed robbery.

The incident was captured on nearby surveillance footage.

Dorzon, a former NFL player turned celebrity chef was with a female and had just exited an uber after a night out when gunfire erupted, according to police.

The video appeared to show Dorzon and his female companion being attacked shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday night in Hyattsville, Maryland.

According to local affiliate NBC 4, sounds of gunfire erupting could be heard in the video as a suspect appeared to enter the frame while firing a gun, in a clip shared by the outlet.

In a previous clip, a white SUV could be seen following a black vehicle described by the outlet as the victims’ uber.

Police said both victims were shot multiple times by four gunmen.

“Three of the males were armed with handguns, one was armed with what we believe was a short rifle of some sort,” Hyattsville Police Department (HPD) chief Jarod J. Towers said, according to NBC 4.

Towers said the suspects fired their weapons prior to making any demands, according to NBC 4.

Dorzon could be seen laying on the ground and heard begging for his life as an alleged gunman robbed him, according to the outlet.

The female victim could be seen limping across a grassy area and hiding behind a vehicle.

The suspects allegedly fired dozens of shots and struck multiple vehicles, according to NBC 4.

“This is barbarous activity and conduct by violent criminals,” Towers said.

He went on to say authorities are searching for the white SUV seen on video.

Dorzon and his female companion were both transported to the hospital and are expected to live.

Dorzon was named Maryland’s Chef of the Year. He also formerly played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans. He hosts a cooking show called “Timeout with Tobias,” and has also been featured on the Food Network.

The famous chef is the owner of two restaurants in Prince George’s County, Huncho House and 1123 By Chef Tobias.
