Since Friday, politicians of both parties have commented on Dobbs v. Jackson, the Supreme Court case overturning Roe v. Wade.
Vice President Kamala Harris succeeded in making everyone, on both sides, roll their eyes.
Some figures, like Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, have praised the decision as an overdue victory for fetal life. Others, like President Joe Biden, have accused the court of overreaching.
Harris issued her own statement about Dobbs… and she faced an enraged backlash from the devotees of her own party.

The vice president tweeted a photo of herself watching CNN’s coverage of the court aboard Air Force Two.
“I know there are women out there who are afraid. To those of you who feel alone and scared: I want you to know the President and I are fighting for you and your rights. We are in this fight together,” Harris said in the caption.
Some liberals took issue with her vague, faux-inspirational wording about the “fight.” They accused her of failing to understand the urgency of this issue.
“Could you be specific? Like, *how* are you fighting?” New York magazine writer Hillary Kelly replied. “Describe the tactics, explain the policy, give us the rundown.”
Another user prompted, “Name literally one thing you’re doing.” Another user simply pointed out, “You are watching TV.”
The rock band Eve 6, from its official Twitter account, slammed Harris for losing touch with her base. “So relieved that you’re watching cable news on a private jet rn,” the band said. The band appears to have misidentified the type of plane.
Of course, some conservatives slammed Harris even harder. One columnist for Townhall.com simply tweeted, “You’re a clown.”

Other Twitter users chanted a familiar, equally vague refrain: “Do something!”

Following the Dobbs ruling, the states can now exercise wider discretion on abortion… and state-level Democrats have gone all in.
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont signed a law last month protecting women from other states who come to Connecticut for abortions. The law prevents Connecticut prosecutors from cooperating with other states’ attempts to extradite the patients.

Earlier this month, Harris herself met with some states’ attorneys general in anticipation of Friday’s abortion ruling, according to Reuters.
Harris has previously come under fire for her vague statements about the court. As a senator, she dodged questions about court packing during a debate with former Vice President Mike Pence. Rather than answering the question, she paraphrased Abraham Lincoln’s statement about the timeline for filling vacancies on the Supreme Court.
