Former Vice President Joe Biden claims he did no wrong in Ukraine.
But newly exposed secret memos could reveal otherwise.
The leading Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential nomination has insisted repeatedly that he was looking out only for Ukrainians when he withheld $1 billion in badly needed foreign aid to the country until they fired Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

And he claims it was in America’s interest stop this prosecutor, who had been accused of corruption.
But given that the same prosecutor was investigating a company linked to Biden’s son, Hunter, the question has to be asked.
Who was he REALLY looking out for?
The Hill’s John Solomon says he uncovered some clues – and they point not at corruption in Ukraine but rather at some very swampy behavior in Washington during the Obama administration.
Solomon wrote in his column that he obtained a newly sworn affidavit by Shokin which confirms the reason he was fired.

And it wasn’t to help end corruption in Ukraine.
“The truth is that I was forced out because I was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into Burisma Holdings, a natural gas firm active in Ukraine and Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, was a member of the Board of Directors,” Shokin testified, according to Solomon.
He said Ukraine’s president at the time, Petro Poroshenko, pressured him repeatedly to close his investigations into Burisma, the natural gas company that paid Hunter Biden some $50,000 per month despite the fact that he had zero qualifications beyond being the son of the American vice president.
Even The New York Times – currently one of Biden’s biggest media cheerleaders – found that arrangement curious.
As the then-vice president visited Ukraine with a supposed anti-corruption message back in 2015, the newspaper wrote:

Yanukovych before he was forced into exile.”
With so many – at home and abroad – wondering just what was going on with the Bidens and Burisma, Shokin said he “refused to close this investigation” despite the pressure, according to the documents obtained by Solomon.
So he was fired.
But despite the denials by Biden and his defenders in Congress and the media, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
Biden himself admitted Shokin was fired because of him, bragging in 2015 that he told the Ukrainians: “We’re leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor’s not fired, you’re not getting the money.”

He was fired and Ukraine got the money.
Fox News also obtained some damning documents that raise new questions over just what Biden was doing in Ukraine.
Notes taken by presidential attorney Rudy Giuliani – the former mayor of New York – spell it out.
“Mr. Shokin attempted to continue the investigations but on or around June or July of 2015, the U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey R. Pyatt told him that the investigation has to be handled with white gloves, which according to Mr. Shokin, that implied do nothing,” notes from Giuliani’s Jan. 2019 interview with Shokin read, according to Fox.

The notes state that Shokin was told explicitly that aid was being withheld by Biden due to that investigation.
Shokin said he had to drop the investigation “out of fear of the United States.”
A major U.S. ally… engaged in conflict with Russia and in desperate need of assistance… was essentially stonewalled and told they would only get it IF they backed off on the investigation into the company linked to the vice president’s family.
If that had been known at the time, Biden almost certainly would’ve been impeached himself!
Instead, he’s one of the ringleaders of the left as Congress moves to impeach President Donald Trump for the “crime” of trying to get to the bottom of what exactly his predecessors were doing in Ukraine.

And, more specifically, if they were using their positions in the United States government to obtain wealth for their family members.
So while the liberal elites raise heck over the allegations against Trump, in reality the documents obtained by Solomon and the notes taken by Giuliani show something else entirely.
Trump is just trying to deliver on a key campaign promise: Drain the swamp.
