Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped to shreds for baseball stunt

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cheered on the New York Yankees from a luxury suite Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium — while continuing to vote that 35,000 Department of Homeland Security employees live 48 straight days without a paycheck.

The wealthy, self-proclaimed champion of the working class was all smiles on the concourse, posing for selfies with fans as the Democrat-led government shutdown stretched into its seventh week.

Sources confirmed to the New York Post that the congresswoman skipped the regular seats entirely.

“She was not sitting down in the bleachers with her constituents,” a source told the Post.

Photos spread quickly across social media, showing Ocasio-Cortez in a Yankees cap and navy-and-white striped sweater, enjoying the luxury box without a care.

AOC enjoys Yankees game from suite as thousands of federal workers go unpaid due to shutdown Sources said she was rushed up to a suite — but not before stopping to take glowing selfies with fans. https://t.co/rdOg76Lj2h pic.twitter.com/Gkizbk1qCG

The game against the Miami Marlins was delayed more than three-and-a-half hours by rain. The Yankees eventually blew a three-run lead and lost, 7-6.

While AOC lived it up, thousands of FEMA workers, U.S. Coast Guard members, and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency employees went another week without pay — the longest partial government shutdown in American history.

The shutdown began in mid-February after Democrats blocked a Republican-backed funding bill. Democrats have since voted down five funding bills and compromise attempts, and are demanding massive reforms to Immigration and Customs Enforcement in order to reopen the vital agency and pay federal workers.

The U.S. Senate has repeatedly rejected the measure 51-45, with nearly every Democrat — except Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania — voting against it. Sixty votes were required to advance the bill.

President Donald Trump moved last week to cut through the impasse with an executive order to resume pay for DHS employees. Trump said their families “have suffered far too long” and pledged that “help is on the way for our Brave and Patriotic Public Servants who have continued to work hard, and do their part to protect and defend our Country.”

Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez is collecting her full $174,000-a-year congressional salary.

TMZ recently documented a parade of lawmakers spending the recent Congressional recess in luxury — some traveling to Europe, hitting the Caribbean, visiting a Las Vegas casino, or vacationing at Disney World.
