Like her or not, there’s no denying that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is an expert at getting attention from the legacy media and social media.
And she was just gifted a new job that makes it certain your eyes, ears, and brain will be bombarded by the far-Left leader for the next two years.
Ocasio-Cortez was just installed as one of the Democratic Party’s top leaders on a critical congressional committee, number two on the House Oversight Committee.
The self-declared socialist is behind only Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-M.D., as leader of the Democratic side of the committee.
Excited and humbled to share that this evening I was selected to serve as @RepRaskin’s #2 on the House Oversight Committee.
Thank you to my colleagues on @OversightDems for entrusting me with this responsibility. I’m thrilled to get to work with our incredible Oversight team!

It’s not all good for Ocasio-Cortez. Rep. Scott Perry, R-P.A., chairman of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus, retained his seat on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and added a new assignment: another member of the high-profile House Oversight Committee.
“Boy, do I have some questions,” said Perry, about his role on that investigative committee.
Perry is joined by conservative Reps. Lauren Boerbert, R-C.O., Marjorie Taylor-Greene, R-G.A., and Paul Gosar, R-A.Z.
Gosar lost his committee assignments in late 2021 after posting a satirical animated video that depicted him slaying Ocasio-Cortez with a sword. The vote to censure and remove Gosar from his committees was almost entirely among party lines but narrowly passed in the then-Democratic controlled House.
Rep. James Comer, R-K.Y., the Oversight committee chairman, and called the Republican members “an all-star lineup ready to hit the ground running and go to bat for the American people.”
White House spokesman Ian Sams said that “with these members joining the Oversight Committee, it appears that House Republicans may be setting the stage for divorced-from-reality political stunts, instead of engaging in bipartisan work on behalf of the American people.”
