House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is submitting to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party demands.
The Democratic is allowing the White House to “declassify” and release the Republican-led reports about origins of the Russia investigation, Politico reported.
Schiff “won’t object,” inside sources say.
It is the latest developments in the struggle between Republicans and Democrats to set the record straight once and for all on the so-called “witch hunt” against Trump.
Critics say the move will allow the GOP to “relitigate” the media narrative that the Trump campaign and Russia were colluding together during the 2016 presidential election.
Trump survived Schiff and the Democrats’ false narrative, supporters say. Now it’s the Republicans’ turn.
National Director of Intelligence John Ratcliffe set the declassification process in motion when he reached out to Senate Republicans with a letter. In the letter he said he wanted to look at the 2018 GOP-led report once more and that he would ask Schiff — a ranking member of the intelligence council — for permission.
In the past, Schiff may have denied access.
For months he’s faced charges from Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and others who have accused him of stonewalling and hiding transcripts of key witnesses surrounding the Russia probe.
In fact, as recently as April it was that Donald Trump Jr. responded to reports that Schiff had been blocking witness interview transcripts, writing that the California congressman was out to protect prominent politicians.
“Adam Schiff is desperately trying to hide these transcripts (including mine) from the American people. Who do you think he’s trying to protect? Me or Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Sally Yates and Andy McCabe?” he wrote.
Critics say Schiff’s team had no proof of Russian collusion, but still embarked on a smear campaign against Trump for political purposes.
It seems the tide has turned since the failed impeachment of Trump.
Trump administration officials are looking into investigative malpractice by the Obama administration and the alleged Deep State agents who sympathized with Democrats.
So what’s behind Schiff’s change of heart?
He may know his time is up for good.
