Could the next name to join Fox possibly be one of the most well-known quarterbacks in the NFL?
According to reports, it’s close to happening.
Daily Caller is reporting that former quarterback Robert Griffin III has sparked a bidding war between top networks to land the NFL star.
And Fox News affiliate Fox Sports is at the top of the list.
Fox Sports, ESPN, and fellow online sports platform OutKick are all in the running to sign the ex-Washington Redskin to a personality role after he reportedly “impressed” in an audition.
As of now, the word among media sources is that purportedly Griffin isn’t 100 percent done with his football career.
He has been in a backup role for the past few years with the Baltimore Ravens before being released — but barring an injury to any starting quarterback around the league, Griffin could be primed for an opportunity to play.
While Griffin would be a relative newcomer to the TV personality industry, in the past he has gotten his feet wet with some broadcasting roles during the recent NFL Draft.
So far it seems that critics are encouraged about the idea of Griffin appearing in a major TV role.
David Hookstead of Daily Caller writes, “I would love to see RGIII on TV in a major role. The man is incredibly intelligent, and I’ve always had a high opinion of him… ”
“It’ll be interesting to see which network he lands at. One of them is going to get a guy with a ton of potential in RGIII.”
