Former President Donald Trump is officially moving out of his Mar-a-Lago, Florida resort, where he has been staying since he left office in late January.
Instead of Florida, Trump’s new home will be in the middle of New Jersey, Reuters reported.
Located approximately about 40 miles West of New York City, Trump National Golf Club Bedminster is set to receive the president after Memorial Day weekend. Trump stayed at the resort a number of times during his first term.
The 45th president’s move isn’t unexpected. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort typically closes after the holiday weekend as guests avoid the sweltering heat of the Florida summer.
But avoiding the summer heat isn’t the only reason Trump is moving back North. According to Business Insider, Trump is also planning some major fundraising events to help support his political agenda.
“They’re moving the whole operation to New Jersey because they’re going to start doing more fundraising,” an advisor said.
