Fox News continues to shake up its programming with two major staff moves.
According to multiple sources, the cable news king is making a pair of high profile additions.
Daily Wire is reporting that frequent Fox News guest and The Federalist co-founder Ben Domenech will have his turn to host “Fox News Primetime” in the 7 p.m. time slot.
He will start the week of April 19, according to Outkick.
Those following the network closely are likely familiar with the network’s quest to find a permanent host for the “Fox News Primetime” program. So far, seven hosts have appeared on the program in what the network sees as an experiment with ratings.
Those who have hosted the show in the past include the likes of faces both familiar to the network and those new: Trey Gowdy, Brian Kilmeade, Maria Bartiromo, Mark Steyn, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Lawrence Jones and Katie Pavlich.
The Horn News spoke about the success Gowdy has seen during his stint, receiving the highest number of viewers among the temporary hosts according to Outkick reporting. Fox News regular contributor Lawrence Jones also saw relatively successful numbers, based on an alternative report.
But that’s not the only splash hire Fox News is making.
Former White House Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is joining the network as well, as a contributor.
The Trump-ally is set to make his 1st appearance as part of the network Friday on “Fox & Friends.”
Pompeo had this to say about his new gig:
“As a now former diplomat and member of Congress, and in this new role at Fox News Media, I intend to give viewers a candid, no-nonsense look at geopolitics, international relations and the America First policies that helped chart the course for unprecedented American prosperity and security.”
Perhaps the move could be seen as a power play amid grumblings that he is eyeing a run for president. He recently teased a run as a guest on Sean Hannity’s program.
Maybe he thinks the exposure will help boost a presidential bid?
Whatever the case, things remain interesting on the Fox News campus, where one move after another keeps coming from the cable news king.
