Well, well, well.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is finally sounding off on the U.S.-Mexico border crisis — and her “bravery” backfired badly.
Critics have pointed out her radio silence as the conditions along the border seem to worsen by the hour under President Joe Biden’s administration.
She has been notably subdued compared to the outrage she expressed when former President Donald Trump was in office.
Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter to promote efforts to defund U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
In other words, she’s blaming the border surge on “Congress endlessly dumping money into CBP/ICE cages vs humane policy.”
But things took a turn when she dragged Ted Cruz’ name into the mix.
A politician’s strength isn’t based on a trip. It’s based on their policy and voting RECORD.
And the fact is a LOT of Ted Cruz types who are now going down to meet refugee children in boats outfitted w/ machine guns are the ones who helped create this problem in the first place.

Cruz of course has been the one fighting desperately for the American people to know the truth about the border instead of hiding it away from the public spotlight. Just last week he and a host of GOP senators took to the border to put cameras on the crisis for themselves.
In other words, Cruz was the wrong person for Ocasio-Cortez to bring into this.
And she got exposed badly.
Cruz jumped in and noted that AOC had just exposed the Democrats’ real agenda.
He says they’d like to defund the border altogether.

“She says nothing else works,” Cruz tweeted. “Really? Last year, we had the lowest illegal immigration IN 45 YEARS. This year, we have the highest in 20 years.”

Their latest dust up is coming on the heels of a massive issue that may define Joe Biden’s presidency.
The border is one big mess.
If Ocasio-Cortez-Cortez’ words are any indication, it’s clear that Democrats are looking to manipulate the headlines about the situation into a humanitarian crisis now that Biden is in office.
