Latest Trump honor triggers liberals

Former President Donald Trump’s latest honor will be sure to make liberals spitting mad.

According to The Hill reporting, the ex-president’s portrait will be unveiled in the Washington D.C. National Portrait Gallery when it reopens.

Following in the White House tradition, Trump will be added to the permanent president’s gallery alongside the likes of Barack Obama, George Bush and those who have assumed the Oval Office throughout history.

Reports indicate that the Trumps will be invited to the gallery when it debuts.

Pundits are speculating as to what the atmosphere at the opening may bring, and whether or not Trump supporters will show up after a handful of his supporters stormed the Capitol building in early January.

According to the museum, all visitors will be welcome.

National Portrait Gallery director Kim Sajet doubled down on the non-partisanship of the institution.

“We are a non-partisan institution and understand that there are public opinions on both sides of the fence,”  she said.

“As with all recent presidential commissions, we are unable to speculate as to how visitors will receive the portraits once completed. That is the beauty of portraiture: How it is received is always different for different people.”

There seems to be no word yet on whether or not the Trump and his family will accept the invitation.

And as for who is painting the portrait, reports suggest that it is still unclear. The initial painting itself will reportedly be a temporary portrait for the time being — in other words, it will not be the “official” painting.

The Washingtonian reports that it could take up to two years for the official portrait to be completed.
