Trump’s next move in 2020 voter fraud investigation

Dozens of national lawmakers urged President Donald Trump to pull out all the stops to get to the truth about reports of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

After hearing of reports of massive voter fraud across the country Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, sent a personal letter to Donald Trump, asking him to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate.

When Gooden’s December 3 letter became public, he didn’t back down; he doubled down.

He rewrote the letter and asked his colleagues in Congress to sign it—and signatures started to pile up.

“Following widespread support from my House Republican colleagues, I am again requesting that you direct Attorney General Barr to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate irregularities in the 2020 election,” Rep. Gooden wrote in the new letter. “The American people deserve a definitive resolution to the uncertainty hovering over the outcome of our election, but legitimate questions of voter fraud remain unanswered.”

Reports claim everything from suitcases full of ballots for Biden being whipped out in the middle of the night, to phony reports of a pipe burst that let officials engage in election shenanigans, to ballot harvesting and voting machine issues. Some have been confirmed. Others not.

There’s only one way to know for sure: A special investigation.

Attorney General William Barr shut down Trump campaign talk by saying he saw no evidence of widespread voter fraud, then turning in his resignation. Barr will quit his office on December 23.

Trump had become harsher and harsher in his criticism of Barr over recent days, including his decision to keep a federal investigation into Hunter Biden under wraps. Social media, which banned users from sharing the story, could not have ignored an official announcement from the Justice Department… but Barr never made one.

“All he had to do is say an investigation is going on,” said White House Spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany.

Gooden and other congressmen want Trump to force Barr’s hand to make sure the Biden administration doesn’t sweep allegations that the 2020 election was stolen under the rug.

“The Department of Justice has been asked on multiple occasions to launch an investigation into this matter, but inaction from the Department along with public comments made by the Attorney General indicate a lack of willingness to investigate the irregularities your campaign and other elected officials across the nation have alleged,” Gooden and his colleagues wrote before Barr’s resignation.

They told Trump to take action: Appoint a special prosecutor,  who can investigate every claim of illegal voting procedures—and who can’t be fired by Biden.

“The appointment of a Special Counsel would establish a team of investigators whose sole responsibility is to uncover the truth and provide the certainty America needs,” the letter says. “We urge you to take swift and decisive action and direct Attorney General Barr to appoint a Special Counsel to restore the American people’s faith in our elections.”

It was signed by 27 Republican congressmen.

Meanwhile, the Senate is probing charges of corruption and illegality at a hearing Wednesday.

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee investigations are set to kick off on December 16 into “irregularities” at polling places nationwide—but especially in the six swing states that threw the election to Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Committee chairman Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, said the hearings are trying to nail down a “moving target,” as whistleblowers come out of the woodwork to shed light on what they say is a crooked election.

You can watch a live stream of the Senate hearings on Wednesday, December 16, at 10 AM Eastern at this link.

Rigged elections are the mark of a banana republic. Americans deserve to know their elections are secure, honest, and free—and anyone who tampers with those elections should not be free.
