Bombshell report shakes up 2020 election

A federal investigation into the finances of Joe Biden’s son Hunter would have reportedly changed the minds of 10 percent of voters if they’d heard of the scandal, a poll found recently.

That would’ve been enough to sway the election clearly in favor of President Donald Trump.

The mainstream media largely refused to report on the findings.

A bombshell new report finds the media had an unexpected ally within the Trump White House: Attorney General William Barr.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Barr reportedly was aware of the investigation into Hunter’s international business and finance dealings — and actively “worked to avoid their public disclosure during the heated election campaign.”

This news comes as a surprise to many, as Barr is considered a valued ally to the President in the White House. Trump was publicly pressing Barr to investigate Biden’s son throughout the campaign.

But for almost a year, Barr was reportedly aware of a bombshell investigation into the Democratic presidential candidate’s family that could potentially influence the election.

Barr did not act to make the public aware. Instead, he suppressed news of the investigations.

Trump’s initial public response to the Hunter probe was surprisingly muted, just a pair of tweets about a Fox News segment on the story Wednesday night. But privately, he has reportedly demanded to know why the investigation was not revealed ahead of Election Day, accusing officials of deliberately stalling in order to help Biden’s chances.

The Hunter Biden investigation is the latest in a series of politically charged inquiries that the Justice Department has grappled with in the past five years, following a two-year probe into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia.

Republicans, particularly those eyeing presidential runs in 2024, are making clear they will press Biden on the Hunter investigation.

“Joe Biden needs to pledge today that he will cooperate with the federal investigation and answer any questions under oath,” Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., said Thursday, “and that if he is sworn in as president, no federal investigator or attorney working on the Hunter Biden criminal case will be removed.”

News of the probe, which was revealed on Wednesday and scrutinizes some of Hunter Biden’s Chinese business dealings and other transactions, caught most of his father’s staffers by surprise.

Most notably, the probe casts a spotlight on one of Biden’s most important choices: his own attorney general.

Alabama Sen. Doug Jones and federal appeals court judge Merrick Garland have emerged as the leading contenders, three people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press this week. But dynamics could shift, as any Biden choice now will be scrutinized for any perceived loyalty to the president-elect and bias in any probe of his son.

Both Garland and especially Jones have longtime ties to Biden.
