Ted Cruz drops election results bombshell

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-T.X., says the election between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden isn’t over.

The Associated Press called the 2020 presidential election in favor of Biden on Saturday.

But Cruz said that Trump still has a chance to win on Sunday.

“I believe President Trump still has a path to victory,” Cruz told Fox News. “And that path is to count every single legal vote that was cast, but also not … any votes that were fraudulently passed or illegally cast, and we have a legal process to determine what’s legal and what isn’t.”

The Trump campaign has filed numerous lawsuits across the country in a last-ditch effort to contest the results of the election. Trump has refused to concede until these lawsuits are resolved.

Cruz said a software glitch found in Michigan could still overturn the results, which as of Monday favor Biden in many battleground states.

“That same software is used in 47 counties throughout Michigan. That needs to be examined to determine that there’s not a problem counting the votes, and the legal process is how you resolve those questions,” Cruz said.

The software company said the glitch found in Michigan was the result of a human error and was not of a widespead software flaw.

The error was quickly fixed and won’t impact the results of the race, a spokesman told The Dallas Morning News.

While media organizations use statistics to call elections, they are not the final decider. States must certify their own elections and deliver them to Congress, which could take weeks.

States must resolve all election disputes by December 8th.
