And the 2020 election winner is..!

As Howard Cosell used to say, “It’s all come down to this.”

As this article goes out to our worldwide audience, state officials and volunteers in thousands of county courthouses are counting up the ballots to tell us who the American people chose to be their president for the next four years.

Will U.S. voters choose to keep President Donald Trump in office and continue one more term of economic prosperity, America First foreign policy, and a president who believes patriotism isn’t outdated?

Or will they choose Joe Biden, who wants to crank the Obama administration’s liberal tax-and-spend policies up to 11 and complete Obama’s job of fundamentally transforming America?

We may not know tonight, or for days, which candidate won the most votes.

If you hear the sound of breaking glass, that’s your cue that Donald Trump has been reelected.

Until then, we know a few things:

First of all, we know Biden’s polls have faded in the last few days as the Democratic nominee failed to seal the deal with voters in the campaign’s closing days.

“Faded! Could there be a more terrible word in the last week of a presidential campaign?” asked John Ellis on the website Medium.

“Off the record, Democratic elected officials and campaign operatives and financial backers have been saying throughout the campaign that their biggest fear regarding the eventual outcome was Biden himself. They saw him as an especially weak candidate and worried that he wasn’t ‘a closer;’ even if he was ahead going into the last week, victory could slip from his grasp,” he wrote.

Now the numbers may be proving them right. Biden’s poll numbers slipped rapidly in the end.

Second, we know that both campaigns have internal polls that they don’t share with the media. We can guess what those polls say based on the campaigns’ actions in the last days.

President Trump always campaigns like a dynamo, especially after losing weeks of crucial campaign time after being diagnosed with the coronavirus. But he really outdid himself this year: In the last four days of the campaign, he scheduled 16 events. He had five rallies on Sunday alone!

His path took him to the most pivotal swing states: Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, and Minnesota.

He even made a stop in Joe Biden’s long-ago hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania—an area Trump carried easily four years ago.

Trump compared his campaign slog to athletes who “left it all on the field.”

Meanwhile Biden—whom we’ve been told will beat Trump in a landslide—has been adding new campaign events in the campaign’s closing days. He’s been spinning his low attendance at rallies.

“There’s a lot of things we could be doing—having massive crowds—but the fact is, it’s just not appropriate now” to be “putting on super-spreaders,” he said.

Then he tried to attract the largest crowd possible by putting on a concert in Pittsburgh with Lady Gaga.

Biden’s schedule offers another insight into how he thinks he’s doing: He’s not visiting Trump-leaning states like Texas, which Democrats once fantasized about turning Blue this year. He’s visiting states he’s supposed to have in the bag like Pennsylvania and Minnesota.

Finally, there’s a strange sense of deja vu about this election.

Four years ago, Donald Trump ended his underdog campaign in Grand Rapids, Michigan. And in the wee hours of election morning, President Trump ended his 2020 reelection campaign in the same city.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton ended her campaign with an appearance by Lady Gaga in North Carolina—a state she lost by four points. Four years later Joe Biden ended his campaign with an appearance by Lady Gaga in Pennsylvania—where the Trafalgar poll had Trump leading by two points last week.
