Vice President Mike Pence was involved in an automobile accident when his campaign bus crashed into a dump truck on Thursday.

And that was only the first accident of the day.

According to reports, Pence’s campaign bus with police escort were heading towards a campaign stop in Greenburg, PA when it was involved in a minor accident with a dump truck around 11 a.m Eastern on Thursday.

Pence was uninjured in the incident and transferred to a limousine to get him to the campaign stop.

Once the motorcade restarted, however, there was a second accident. Journalists on the scene said two police motorcycle escorts crashed as Pence’s limousine headed out.

The vice president got out and made sure the police officers were okay, reports say, before departing for his event.

The two motorcycle cops were reportedly hospitalized for precautionary reasons, but their injuries are considered minor.

After the incident, Pence tweeted his thanks —

Grateful for all of the law enforcement officers who support us and help get us safely to where we are going each day. Thank you for all you do!

— Mike Pence (@Mike_Pence) July 30, 2020

Pence’s trip is to a “Cops for Trump” event in Greenburg, a town in Western Pennslyvania.

Later Thursday, the vice president is scheduled to make a stop at the Guy Chemical Company in Somerset for a tour before heading back to Washington, D.C.
