Virus experts have good news for Wuhan virus pandemic

According to RealClearPolitics, America has 1,528,179 confirmed cases of the Wuhan flu virus — with a six percent reported fatality rate.

But health experts have good news: There’s a silver lining to be found in what seems like a shocking statistic.

The fatality rate among infected patients may be much lower than initially thought.

Experts say that emerging data on the virus is considerably less deadly — and most people remain completely asymptomatic.

Researchers conducting antibody testing say evidence shows more people have contracted the virus than have been officially confirmed. In Spain, as many as five percent of the nation may have already gotten the virus.

In Boston, researchers say up to 20 percent of the population may have contracted the virus.

And experts say this low fatality rate may help accelerate the development of “herd immunity,” a form of protection against the virus.

Effective herd immunity, according to scientists, requires both a high number of cases and a high number of recovery, trends that researchers are actively observing.

The timeline for recovery still remains uncertain.

But it seems that as America continues forward, the economic and social recovery may quickly accelerate.
