Liberal media turns on AOC over Wuhan virus stunt

Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. is an “enemy of the good.”

The New York Daily News said it themselves.

A liberal newspaper turned on Ocasio-Cortez after the Democratic socialst went on record as one of five Congress members to vote against the $484 billion relief bill aimed to bring widespread relief to small businesses and hospitals.

Ocasio-Cortez refused to back the bill because it didn’t have enough spending.

So she voted against her district receiving virus tests, among other forms of aid.

Even the liberal pundits are turning on her. The NY Daily News said she’s the only Democrat in the House and Senate who sided against any of the four economic bailout bills.

Perhaps the most interesting point Daily News makes is that Ocasio-Cortez hails from the perhaps the hardest hit city in the entire world, and her district in the Bronx has become a feeding ground for the virus.

When she took to the House floor to explain her decision, she made a sensationalistic speech on why she voted no.

She wanted more money.

The dramatic speech was a spectacle. It likely riled up her liberal followers. But in the end, she went on record in letting her district down.

And even the liberal news is turning on her.

.@RepAOC @AOC: "It is a joke when Republicans say that they have urgency around this bill…you are not trying fix this bill for mom & pops. We have to fight to fund hospitals. Fighting to fund testing…It is unconscionable."

Ocasio-Cortez’s largest challenger in her 2020 Democratic reelection primary, former CNBC anchor Michell Caruso-Cabrera, went on the attack over the stunt.

“AOC votes against more aid to our overburdened hospitals in the Bronx and Queens and indeed the whole nation,” she said. “AOC votes against more coronavirus testing for the Bronx and Queens and indeed the whole nation. AOC votes against aid to small businesses for the Bronx and Queens and indeed the whole nation.”

Ocasio-Cortez won’t help the hospitals, nurses, EMTs and any other essential worker… unless she gets everything she wants, her opponent said.

“This is outrageous and just plain wrong,” Caruso-Cabrera added. “Nothing could underscore more clearly why AOC’s anti-democratic party, pro-socialist agenda needs to be rejected once and for all.”

As the global pandemic drags on, it’s likely that this virus relief bill won’t be the last –– and if Ocasio-Cortez wants to hold onto her district, it may be wise for her to vote “yes.”

Otherwise, voters in her district may tell her “no” when it’s time to cast ballots.
