AOC tried to delete this Tweet — we found it

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was criticized earlier this week for saying on a podcast that she was “thankful” the deadly Wuhan virus pandemic was killing thousands of America’s most vulnerable citizens.

Ocasio-Cortez said she envisions the deadly pandemic as an opportunity to remake America into her far-left vision.

On Monday, she doubled-down. While millions of Americans have lost their jobs because of restrictive coronavirus quarantine, AOC tweeted that she “loved to see it.”

The crumbling economy, including the massive oil industry that employs tens of thousands of U.S. citizens, was something to celebrate.

“You absolutely love to see it,” Ocasio-Cortez said on social media in response to a report about oil prices reaching “negative value.”

She quickly deleted the tweet — but not before online activists captured a screenshot.

Like the Roman Emperor Nero of old, Ocasio-Cortez and the Democratic elite are fiddling while America burns.

There’s little mystery as to why there’s so little demand for oil: Efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus have major cities around the world on lockdown, air travel has been seriously curtailed, and millions of people are working from home, leading to far fewer commuters on the roads.

But pumps are still running, extracting oil from the ground — but the companies are losing money. Quickly.

That means the Americans still employed at those companies may soon lose their jobs.

There’s not even a benefit to consumers, experts say.

“Typically when oil prices fall, gasoline prices fall and that benefits consumers,” Jim Burkhard, vice president at IHS Markit, said. “But prices are falling today because hardly anyone driving, they’re driving a lot, lot less. So it’s difficult for anyone to take advantage of these lower gasoline prices if they’re not driving. So there’s no winner in this situation today.”

Ocasio-Cortez — who majored in economics — said that’s reason to celebrate.

To replace her deleted tweet, Ocasio-Cortez stopped celebrating the American economic collapse.

But she’s not one to let a good crisis to go to waste. AOC called for a massive restructuring of the American economy — by demanding the government go into further debt to pay for her $90+ trillion Green New Deal plan.

Now is the time to create millions of good jobs building out the infrastructure and clean energy necessary to save our planet for future generations.

For our economy, our planet, and our future, we need a #GreenNewDeal.
