Almost every single day, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says something jaw-droppingly awful.
Most of the time, she skates by—Democrats defend her and Republicans refuse to fight back.
But Vice President Mike Pence decided when she spits on the memory of six million Holocaust survivors, he’s had enough.
In June, Ocaso-Cortez made an insane comparison between illegal aliens detention centers – overcrowded because of open borders policies like hers – and Nazi death camps.
“The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border,” Ocasio-Cortez lied in one of her viral Instagram live videoes. “That is exactly what they are! They are concentration camps!”
The former bartender called anyone who believes in borders of being a Nazi and said, since President Trump “creates concentration camps,” he “is fascist.”
Her lie was so overwhelming that she got tongue-tied and rambled into a string of nonsense words and sentence fragments. “Um, if that doesn’t bother you, I don’t, I don’t know, I like, we can have…OK, whatever,” she said.
But she was back on message when she posted the video and even used the phrase “Never Again”— the phrase Holocaust survivors use to mobilize against governments disarming and killing their own citizens again.
Pence decided to fight back — and destroyed the freshman congresswoman’s slanderous claim.
“We must never allow the memory of those lost in the Holocaust to be cheapened as a cliché to advance some left-wing political narrative,” Pence told the group Christians United for Israel.
He never used Ocasio-Cortez’s name, but everybody knew who he meant when Pence called out “a leading Democrat in Congress” who “compared our U.S. Customs and Border Protection detention facilities to concentration camps.”
Ocasio-Cortez’ so-called progressive “allies in Congress, the Left, and the media shamefully came to her defense,” Pence said.
One of them is fellow socialist, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., who said Ocasio-Cortez was “absolutely” right to compare U.S. detention centers to Auschwitz.
Then Pence moved in to demolish the media’s left-wing idols.
“Make no mistake about it, this slander of law enforcement was an insult to the 6 million killed in the Holocaust,” Pence said. “And it should be condemned by every American of every political party everywhere.”
“To compare the humane work of dedicated men and women of Customs and Border Protection with the horrors of the Holocaust is an outrage,” he said. “The Nazis took lives. American law enforcement saves lives every day.”
The facts bear the Trump administration out, as usual.
ICE is giving medical and dental treatment to 13,500 illegals every single day.
And agents are using rapid DNA tests to separate Central American kids from child molesters and human traffickers posing as their parents.
That’s why acting ICE Director Mark Morgan called AOC’s Nazi smear “completely inappropriate. It’s reckless, it’s irresponsible, it’s misinformed, and it’s flat out wrong.”
But AOC just doubled down on her outlandish statements… and she provoked the people most outraged by her historically illiteracy: Holocaust survivors, their families, and Jewish organizations who know what real concentration camps look like.
He said anyone who would compare U.S. immigration policy “with the evils of Nazi concentration camps is both deeply ignorant and instinctively anti-American.”
Zionist Organization of America Mort Klein said, “Comparing this to the horrors of the Holocaust death camps is a sin.”
“AOC must be censured by her colleagues for this mindless and moronic analogy,” Klein added. “She doesn’t belong in Congress.”
An elderly Holocaust survivor even reached out to try to help Ocasio-Cortez understand why what she said was so offensive—only to have the Bronx congresswoman slap him down.
93-year-old Holocaust survivor Edward Mosberg invited Cortez to tour Auschwitz and two other Nazi concentration camps, to see why her words broke the hearts of people who actually spent time inside them.
Instead, AOC shot back at the elderly Jewish man, saying the Holocaust survivor is living proof of “how transparently the far-right manipulates these moments for political gain.”
This woman has no shame.
Pence told CUFI, “I promise you: President Donald Trump will always honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, and he will always honor the service of the brave men and women of law enforcement.”
It’s about time more Republicans followed Pence’s lead.
Stand up for border patrol agents and expose how Ocasio-Cortez uses cold-blooded insults against suffering Holocaust survivors to advance her socialist agenda.
