Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) saw President Donald Trump’s address to the nation on Tuesday night — and she immediately went berserk.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow that night, Ocasio-Cortez went on an anti-Trump rant about “aggressive” policies. But critics say the whole thing was one big lie after another.
The socialist leader jumped on the usual points of criticism of the president from the left. She raved against the administration’s “aggressive” policies on illegal immigration, hit low blows against the president’s character, and even a criticized our border patrol police.
She even said illegal immigrants have more of a right to America than border patrol police.
“The women and children on that border that are trying to seek refuge and seek opportunity in the United States of America with nothing but the shirt on their backs are acting more American than the person who seeks to keep them out ever will be,” she claimed.
Conservative pundits wasted no time in correcting her.
Jim Geraghty of the National Review took a hard stance against Ocasio-Cortez. He rebuked the use of blanket statements to describe illegal immigrants, and pointed out that some of them could really be ISIS leaders.
“Omar Ameen’s refuge application was approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on June 5, 2014. He was a member of ISIS. How ‘American’ was he?”
Even far left pundits were troubled by Ocasio-Cortez’s far-left extremism. Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of “The View,” had seen enough and reprimanded Ocasio-Cortez on her show Monday. Goldberg said the freshman congresswoman has to get some actual work done before “pooping on people and what they’ve done.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Ocasio-Cortez has been caught spreading lies.
Only days ago, she was awarded four Pinnochios by the liberal Washington Post for her claims about Congressional spending.
She also voted in favor of a Democrat-backed bill to fully fund Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) last week — and then hours later went on television and demanded it be de-funded.
Think she cares? Ocasio-Cortez proudly declared on CBS News on Sunday that she cares more about feelings than facts.
“I think there are more people concerned about being precisely, factually and semantically correct than about being morally right,” she said to Anderson Cooper in a recent interview on “60 Minutes.” Miraculously, even Anderson Cooper had to disagree.
Max Boot, columnist at The Washington Post, even had to admit that Ocasio-Cortez’ lack of knowledge is being exposed with her “vacuous soundbites.”
