A woman from Tennessee was in admiration on Monday after she checked her surveillance video and found footage of a good samaritan outside her home.

Erin Fezell posted a video to Facebook of a man outside her front door holding her American flag that had flown off its pole.

The woman explained that not only did the young man fold the flag properly, but he also placed it on a chair outside her door so that it did not lay on the ground.

Fez ell explained that she reviewed her surveillance footage after she was alerted that someone had rung her doorbell.

“Guys, this just happened. I’m in awe of this gentleman. Apparently the winds were so terrible that it took our flag off the pole,” she wrote on Facebook.

At first, Fezell explained that she was not sure of who the young man was.

Either way, she was grateful. “You’re a remarkable human and I am honored that you know flag etiquette (better than I do). He folded it correctly then placed it on a chair as to not allow it to lay on the ground. I’m so honored,” she wrote.

Fezell added, “It’s not often that the current generation gets recognized for doing something so patriotic. I appreciate and applaud you, sir!”

After sharing the video to Facebook, Fezell discovered that the young man was her neighbor’s 22-year-old nephew, Nicholas Dunn. He is currently with the National Guard.

Fezell was in “awe” of Dunn’s thoughtful gesture not only because her father-in-law served in the Air Force, but because her father served in the Navy.
