MSNBC political director Chuck Todd speculated on Thursday that Russians could be behind the several suspicious packages sent to Democrats this week.
According to The Associated Press, a search of a postal database suggested at least some may have been mailed from Florida, one official said, and investigators have targeted a postal facility in Opa-locka, Florida, where they believe some of the packages originated, another official said.
But MSNBC panelists warn that investigators may be overlooking another possible origin for the suspicious packages… Moscow.
“I have this fear it could be some Russian operation, too, designed to do what’s happening now,” Todd said Thursday.
“In some ways, we shouldn’t rule anything out. It is diving us,” Todd continued.

Despite his fears that Russia could be behind the attacks, Friday morning investigators intercepted two more pipe bombs — and one was found in Florida.
Suspicious packages addressed to New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and former National Intelligence Director James Clapper — and similar in appearance to pipe bomb devices sent to other prominent Democrats — have been intercepted, the FBI said Friday.
The FBI said the package to Booker was intercepted in Florida.
As of Friday morning, no suspect has been identified. However, investigators do believe that forensic evidence from the pipe bombs will lead them to the culprit very shortly.
