MSNBC star caught LYING… while live on-air!

MSNBC host Chris Hayes joined Rachael Maddow Show producer Steve Benen and The USA Today in a striking rebuke of President Donald Trump’s Secret Service budget on Monday.

But there’s one problem — the facts they’re sharing are cherry-picked data that glosses over the fact that the Secret Service’s budget concerns have been a reoccurring problem… one that first appeared under former President Barack Obama.

In other words, through the omission of key information, Hayes was caught lying straight to the American people on-air.

It’s just more misleading information being passed off as real news by MSNBC, with all the context glossed over in a desperate ratings grab.

Hayes told viewers live on-air that Trump’s travel and golfing was costing the Secret Service more money than they could afford, and they were due to run out of money soon.

What Hayes failed to mention was the date the Secret Service was set to run out of money — on Sep. 30, the end of the fiscal year.

The fiscal year is when the Secret Service’s spending budget would be reset by Congress, as it has been for the better part of a decade. That means the Secret Service will run out of money for the year… the same day they planned to finish spending for the year.

In other words, imagine this scenario: A man has $140 to spend on food. He’s allocated $20 a day for seven days, until his next paycheck.

According to the mainstream media, he’s not wisely budgeting his spending… instead, he’s running out of money!

Hayes and the rest of the liberal media’s reporting, in fact, was directly contradicted a statement by U.S. Secret Service Director Randolph “Tex” Alles.

“The Secret Service has the funding it needs to meet all current mission requirements for the remainder of the fiscal year and compensate employees for overtime within statutory pay caps,” Alles said in a statement Monday.

Budget issues “is not one that can be attributed to the current administration’s protection requirements alone, but rather has been an ongoing issue for nearly a decade due to an overall increase in operational tempo,” he concluded.

Compare that statement to the headlines being pushed by the liberal media.

Here is The Washington Post’s coverage of the story —

Remember, the budget for the Secret Service resets Sep. 30. Of course, The Post is not alone.

Here’s what “The Rachael Maddow Show” producer wrote —

Remember, the agency’s director said himself that this has been an ongoing problem since Obama and can not be attributed to the Trump administration alone.

Any wonder why Trump calls these jokers “fake news”?
