Outrage! U.S. postman caught dumping letters in ditch

The U.S. Postal Service has launched an investigation after a metro Atlanta resident says she filmed a worker dumping hundreds of pieces of mail in the woods.

Kellie Campbell of DeKalb County tells WSB-TV she recorded the postal worker walking near a fence and dumping several bins of mail into a ditch.

Campbell called the Postal Service, which sent workers to collect and deliver the mail.

In a statement, the Postal Service condemned the unlawful disposal of mail and said it was investigating the incident.

Officials did not release the name of the accused mail carrier, but said the employee was working part-time. No charges were immediately filed.

The Associated Press contributed to this article.

The mail carrier needs to be fired and prosecuted for destroying mail. The Postal System has seen a decline in mail thanks to electronic technology. As people experience lost mail they are likely to use the service even less.

A mail carrier in our town did it and was caught. She lost her job, but they didn’t take her to court because “everyone got their mail because the post office took care of the matter and saw that the mail was delivered.” That’s supposed to be a federal offense.

FDR said in 1936 that NO LOCAL…STATE…OR FEDERAL ENTITY SHOULD EVER UNIONIZE as it would create monumental problems. It is the same no one in the VA was ever fired just transferred for letting veterans die with fake waiting lists Teachers Unions are the same even if they are convicted felons ALL federal union contracts are grossly stacked in the unions favor. It is almost impossible to fire a state or federal union employee

What happens if the mail that was “lost” contains bills? Not getting the bill may make the recipient forget to pay it which means late fees.

Our business mailman was caught stealing mail and stolen mail was found in his house. In the private sector that would mean immediate termination. Not our mailman. He was put on “PAID SUSPENSION” while the postal officials investigated. THAT TOOK 10 MONTHS! AFTER WHICH, THE MAILMAN GOT HIS JOB BACK. WOW, DID HE LEARN A NEW RESPECT FOR HIS EMPLOYER? SUCH A TERRIBLE PUNISHMENT, A 10 MONTH PAID VACATION WITH HIS OLD JOB BACK. And we wonder, as taxpayers, can government get any less efficient?? HILLARY WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE!

I was recently a subject of mail being lost or stolen It was my birthday and two sons from 2 different states sent me a card and one a small box. Both had return addresses on them. The mail should have arrived on Monday the 3rd of October from the two different sources. That particular day not one person on my street got mail. I have put in a form request and was contacted, but the mail has not been delivered to me nor did it get returned to either of my sons. who put their return addresses on the mail. Where does this mail go if it hasn’t been delivered or returned to sender.? It is now almost the end of October and still no signs of the mail. Can I go any further in trying to find these since they did not have a tracking number. I am a 76 year old widow and look forward to having my birthday cards from my sons. Clearly it is theft in the Post Office because both were mailed in different Post Offices, not in a box and mailed from different locations. It’s pretty sad to think that the Post Office, Federal employees are stealing our mail now! I am sad to not receive these pieces of mail. It had to be theft at some point in the Post Office. Isn’t there any recourse?

here in lincoln city we had a young postman deliver mail and if couldn’t find address would put in a mailbox even if no one was obviously living at that residence. Still working, but ppl are watching in our neighborhood more!
