A deer that was hit by an SUV in New Jersey wasn’t going down without a fight.

A police vehicle’s in-car camera captured what happened after Ellen Sager struck the animal on Sept. 17 in Howell Township.

Sager stopped and opened her door so she could look at the damage. The patrolman pulled over to help when the buck ran back across the road and tried to jump into Sager’s driver’s seat.

The deer attempted to climb over her before she managed to kick it away and close the door.

Sager sustained a minor injury to her knee. The deer died from its injuries.

Deer are stupid animals. I have hit several of them. Most of my hits have been hard enough that they died on impact. I wish some disease would wipe out most of the deer herd. They are pests and road hazards.

Not as stupid as apparently the way you drive. They have every right to be here and your lack of empathy for anything that annoys you shows you are a very self centered person. If it doesn’t benefit you then to hell with it? The world is a better place with these beautiful deer in it bit I can’t say the same for you.

They aren’t as stupid as the way you drive apparently. Deer are beautiful creatures and have every right to be here. If something annoys you then you feel it has no value? Ok, because I feel that way about you.

You are probably the same kind of person who goes out of their way to hit and kill dogs, cats, and anything else you can use as a target for your vehicle. Since you have repeatedly done it and brag about it, I would say you are the kind of person who drives a jacked up Pickup with ramming bars on the front and a set of balls dangling from the oversize trailer hitch on the back.

Funny, but you could be describing yourself. I have many wild deer friends, and not once have they disappointed me, as so many humans have. I have never hit one deer, and watch the roadside for them. There have been close calls, but if a driver gives a hoot about the other lives out there, it doesn’t need to happen.

Socrates was right : was smart. Many human beings believe they are far superior to any other mammal (we are also animals), which is arrogant. We have been invading animals’ homes and crucifying them for centuries. We can’t expect them to think like humans – we so t think like deer or other animals . Put a human without weapons, shelter, no matches, naked in the savannah for one week and tell me if he-she survives. Doubtful. Yet animals have tracked their owners across the country and survived the trip without having knowledge of a new street address. Miraculous.

The buck was probably in pain & not realizing what it was doing. Either that or it wanted to go for help!
