National leaders may be unwilling to strip Planned Parenthood of its government funding. But one state governor is taking a stand, and is telling Planned Parenthood he’ll see them in court.
The Utah branch of Planned Parenthood sued Republican Gov. Gary Herbert Monday for ordering state agencies to cut off federal funding to the organization following the release of secretly recorded videos by an anti-abortion group.
Herbert blocked funding distributed by the state after a California anti-abortion group leaked footage showing Planned Parenthood officials describing how they provide fetal tissue from abortions for medical research. Many Republicans claim these videos prove that Planned Parenthood participates in illegal and immoral practices.
Herbert spokeswoman Aimee Edwards said Monday that the governor stands by his order.
“He was offended by the actions of Planned Parenthood and the callousness with which they discussed human life,” Edwards said in a statement.
Utah’s decision to cut off funding is causing similar moves in other states against local Planned Parenthood chapters. The organization is desperately fighting back, using lawsuits in Arkansas, Alabama and Louisiana to try and stop those states’ leaders from stripping the group of contracts and federal money that the states dole out.
The videos also have sparked a budget fight in Congress, where conservatives are trying to strip federal funding from Planned Parenthood. The dispute has left congressional leaders staring down a potential government shutdown this week unless a temporary funding bill is passed.
In Utah, Planned Parenthood received more than $200,000 in federal funds during the last budget year. The group also receives money through federal contracts, fees from clients, insurance and contributions.
Several Republican presidential hopefuls have condemned Planned Parenthood. And conservatives’ demands that Congress cut the group’s federal payments — for which Republicans lack the votes to succeed — indirectly contributed to the GOP unrest that prompted House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to announce his resignation last week.
The videos — 10 have been released so far — capture Planned Parenthood officials casually describing how they sometimes obtain tissue from aborted fetuses for researchers.
Abortion foes say the videos show the group breaks federal laws barring for-profit fetal tissue sales and altering abortion procedures to obtain usable organs.

The states may be more successful passing laws banning the sale of body parts collected within its borders. This takes the federal funding component out of the equation.
Several states have been successful in passing laws requiring abortion providers to meet the same standards as hospitals and to have admitting privileges in nearby hospitals. I would go one further and say abortion providers should have to meet the same standards as surgical centers. This will not end the baby slaughter business but it will make it more difficult and expensive for them to stay open.
The actions in question are already illegal because they are not following the rules for using body parts. So passing another law against it may not be as useful as it might appear….
They will all be judged by The Almighty….Our highest SUPREME court….And there will be no political correctness !

I just don’t get why American taxpayers should be required to pay for these irresponsible girls/women to kill their babies. Are these women so stupid that they don’t KNOW that having unprotected sex could lead to pregnancy? Or do they know and are just too LAZY to get the protection required to prevent pregnancy? These people(?) actually decided to put themselves in a position to become pregnant WITHOUT using birth control that is readily available and covered by health care. Even if they have to pay for it, it is affordable to anyone. For years, thanks to the Roe-v-Wade decision, women who got pregnant and didn’t want their baby to live, paid for this horrible procedure to kill their own child. THEY are the ones who, literally, SCREWED UP! They should foot the bill and maybe they will learn that using proper birth control, or (GASP!) keep their pants on and legs closed and, therefore, would prevent this problem that they are having. When are people going to stand up and take responsibility for their actions, or made to? Actions lead to consequences, good or bad. I didn’t force them to have unprotected sex. They did it on their own. I shouldn’t have to pay for their laziness or inability to control their actions. The state of morality in this country is abominable. People have turned into creatures who are not even as intelligent as animals. God gave us brains to use. If they don’t want to use their brain to make smart decisions, it is not my fault. Let them pay the price in dollars and cents, not to mention the horror they must feel for what they have done and putting their own lives in danger. And, unless they take Jesus into their heart, take Him as their savior, repent of their sin to the loving, forgiving God of the universe, they will spend eternity in Hell. I would not wish that fate on anyone. My prayers are with them.

Yes, Planned Parenthood dispenses birth control. But so do gynecologists, family physicians, county health clinics, and others such as college health clinics. It is their abortion services that set them apart. Removing government funding for Planned Parenthood would not block access to birth control, just because their name implies “birth control”. The money would just go to other organizations that are not so callus.
In just decades, we have gone from a society who abhored killing and recoiled at the atrocities of Nazism, to anything goes. Does anyone have a conscience anymore, or have they committed so much sin that it is (seared) burned out?! Progressive college professors and radical activists from the 60s have poisoned the minds of our young people with their lies, claiming that their “theories” are truth. Oh, and let’s not forget to credit the news media who have truly been adept at their ploy of bringing down America, too.
The problem is nobody knows what makes a thing right or wrong, anymore. The answer is simple: If God is for something, it’s good. If He is against it, it’s bad. And by the way, God invented sex. It was His idea, but only in the confines of a committed marriage relationship. Look at the mess we’ve brought on ourselves by thinking we don’t have to listen to what He says. Don’t forget, He is the judge of all and will have the final say in all matters.

I personally wanted to know and if you care for your family I would think you would want to know also.
