Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has a message for voters — it’s time to start using “foreign policy realism” to destroy the Islamic State. And it starts here at home.
Trump is expected to outline a new immigration policy proposal Monday, under which the U.S. would stop issuing visas in any case where it cannot perform adequate screenings.
It will be the latest version of a policy that began with Trump’s unprecedented call to temporarily ban foreign Muslims from entering the country – a religious test that was criticized heavily by liberal groups. Following a massacre at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in June, Trump introduced a new standard.
“As he laid out in his Orlando remarks, Mr. Trump will describe the need to temporarily suspend visa issuances to geographic regions with a history of exporting terrorism and where adequate checks and background vetting cannot occur,” Miller said.
Trump is also expected to propose creating a new, ideological test for admission to the country that would assess a candidate’s stances on issues like religious freedom, gender equality and gay rights. Through questionnaires, searching social media, interviewing friends and family or other means, applicants would be vetted to see whether they support American values like tolerance and pluralism.
Additionally, Trump will declare an end to nation building if elected president, replacing it with what aides described as “foreign policy realism” focused on destroying the Islamic State group and other extremist organizations.
In a speech the Republican presidential nominee will deliver on Monday in Ohio, Trump will argue that the country needs to work with anyone that shares that mission, regardless of other ideological and strategic disagreements. Any country that wants to work with the U.S. to defeat “radical Islamic terrorism” will be a U.S. ally, he is expected to say.
“Mr. Trump’s speech will explain that while we can’t choose our friends, we must always recognize our enemies,” Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller said Sunday.
On the eve of the speech, the Clinton campaign slammed Trump’s campaign manager for ties to Russia and pro-Kremlin interests, an apparent reference to a New York Times story published Sunday night. The story alleges Paul Manafort received $12.7 million from Ukraine’s former pro-Russia president and his political party for consultant work over a five-year period. The newspaper says Manafort’s lawyer denied his client received any such payments.
The candidate is also expected to call in the speech for declaring in explicit terms that, like during the Cold War, the nation is in an ideological conflict with radical Islam.
Trump is also expected to spend significant time going after President Barack Obama and Clinton, the former secretary of state, blaming them for enacting policies he argues allowed the Islamic State group to spread. Obama has made ending nation building a central part of his foreign policy argument for years.
“Mr. Trump will outline his vision for defeating radical Islamic terrorism, and explain how the policies of Obama-Clinton are responsible for the rise of ISIS and the spread of barbarism that has taken the lives of so many,” Miller said Sunday in an email.

This is what I like to see. Thoughtful intelligence. Trump consistently comes out with clear, comprehensive policy statements. You know what he stands for. Clinton, in contrast, has nothing but a string of one liners. I defy anyone to tell me what her programs are, their details and rationale. She has proposed zero of any substance whatsoever. When fighting Bernie, she sounded a bit like Bernie. Now she is sounding a bit like Trump, but again she has no substance.

If you listen to her carefully, everything she accuses Trump of is what she is guilty of, herself. That has been the Klinton Strategy for 30 or more years. Trump is the only one who will do what it takes to protect us and get America back on track. What i believe that Trump should do is to persuade Congress to adopt a law BANNING the practice, teaching, implementation or especially, imposition of Shar’ia Law upon ANYONE in America, on pain of IMMEDIATE DEPORTATION to the nearest country that DOES practice it. Here’s an idea make welfare and food stamps and Medicaid as hard or harder to get than veterans benefits and all these protestors will be too busy looking for a job to protest. No more assistance for immigrants they would need to be self sufficient or have private sponsors to immigrate.
An ideological test for those seeking to come to the United States would be problematic. Do we really want to get into a position of denying entry to those who disagree with the homosexual agenda? Do we really think that an ideological test would keep many of these people out of the country? After all, people lie every day. If a terrorist must deny Islam to gain admittance to our country, they will cross their fingers, lie, and then make the next call to prayer once they have got through the entry gate.
Has anybody thought about how Trump uses his hands? Usually women have such inflections with hands. Men never inflect their hands like he does. I believe Trump hand inflections is result of having too many women around him. Too many women around tend to influence men to behave like themselves. Look, how defensive he is. Trump whined that the GOP candidate nomination was rigged. He cried so many times that I got sick of it. Now he is whining the November elections are already rigged. He is not telling us who has rigged the election of November 8 which is in preparation now around the country. I have nothing against Trump, but I believe he should wait another 8 years to be in the WH ring again. Now it is Hillary’s turn to be the Commander-in Chief.

From day one I have always favored Mr. Trump, I didn’t care what ever they say bad things about him. It started when he said he will deport all illigal immigrants, that really caught my attention because I was working for people that has 90% illigal immigrants employees and I worked with some of them and they are bad. They think they own the country, so I quit working there. I hope and pray that Mr. Trump will be our next President. It’s our only hope to make America Great Again.
It is better than Hillary’s plan. She wants to grant amnesty to the millions of foreign nationals already illegally residing in the United States and leave the borders unsecured so that millions more may join them unhindered. (Never mind about other illegal activities on the boarder or terrorist infiltration. National security takes a back seat when it might interfere with her other objectives.) It is her policy that they be provided medical care and education for their children (At our expense). And of course they would be immediately eligible for welfare and other government assistance programs. This is not immigration. It is an invasion.
Actually, there is nothing wrong with immigration and immigrants. That is so long as the immigrants obey the law and follow the rules as set forth by Congress for naturalization. For the Constitution grants this authority to the Congress and not to the President.
