Vice President JD Vance is going where no conservatives seem to want to go — or are welcome.
According to multiple reports, Vance will appear on “The View” next week, marking his first appearance on the notoriously liberal ABC News program.
Vance, who is set to join the show next Tuesday, will only be the third sitting vice president to appear on “The View.”
All six co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, are expected to be in studio for the rare interview with an elected Republican.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg teased Vance’s upcoming appearance exclusively.

According to a Fox News report, Vance will discuss his new book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith,” along with news of the day and his goals for the Trump administration.
However, Vance’s appearance comes as a surprise as “The View” has been famously anti-Trump for years, frequently criticizing the president and members of his administration.
“The View” has recently attacked Vance and his personal life, too.
In March, show co-hosts Hostin and Behar attacked Vance’s wife and second lady, Usha Vance, as they suggested she was “addicted” to power and that their values should align because the country is in an “existential crisis.”
During that episode, Hostin argued that Usha’s and the Vice President’s values did not align, as she quoted Vance once saying that he hoped Usha, who is Hindu, would “come to see” and believe in the Christian gospel.
Additionally, Behar pointed to the vice president’s past criticism of President Donald Trump and said Vance now kisses Trump’s “butt every day.”
The daytime show also goes out of its way not to include conservative guests in its lineup.
“The View” had a total of 341 guests in 2025, but only two of them were conservative, while 128 were liberal, according to a study conducted by the Media Research Center’s NewsBusters.
Earlier this year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched a probe into “The View” over whether it broke rules for equal time regarding interviewing political candidates on broadcast TV.
That investigation came after the talk show had Democratic Texas Senate candidate James Talarico on amid his primary with Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX).
Talarico, a member of the Texas state House, won the Democratic primary in March and will face GOP nominee Ken Paxton, the state attorney general, in November.
Vance’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the media at the time of publication.
