The Horn News Friday Fail takes us to Florida this week, where a woman went viral after being pulled over and ticketed for texting while driving with her right hand… a hand she wasn’t born with .
The charge has since been quietly dropped after the deputy’s body cam video exploded on the internet.
Kathleen Thomas was pulled over in February by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy and issued a $116 citation for violating Florida’s cell phone laws while driving.
There was one problem. The deputy said she was holding her phone in her “right hand.” Thomas has no right hand.
She posted video of the traffic stop to TikTok, where it quickly went viral. In the clip, Thomas challenges the deputy by simply showing she has no right hand. The bodycam footage, later obtained and released by CBS12, shows the awkward exchange unfold in real time.
