Families in this NYC apartment building say they are afraid to step into their own hallways, because their hatchet-wielding, cross-dressing, publicly masturbating “neighbor from hell” is always waiting.
They’re begging authorities to act and stop the madness.
Disturbing video shot through a peephole of a Bronx apartment reportedly shows Anthony Orozco, 28, wearing a wig and wielding an axe outside a neighbor’s door, screaming “Open your door!” in Spanish while swinging the weapon.
In other clips, he roams the stairwell naked. In others, he creeps through the hallways with a knife, rapping on doors at all hours of the night. Neighbors say he has been seen masturbated in the public stairwell.
He has been living in the building rent-free for more than a year. He is still there. Neighbors say he even tried to blow up the apartment building by leaving his gas stove on all day while walking around smoking cigarettes, forcing the New York City Fire Department to shut off gas to three nearby buildings.

Tenant Zahara Cardwell said she has filed an order of protection against him with New York City, but it has done nothing.
“He threatened me last year, actually, where I actually had to get an order of protection on him because he pulled a hatchet on me,” Cardwell said. “I’m constantly being attacked. He’s still constantly attacking me with the order of protection.”
Alexandra Reina described the daily terror of living in the building.
“Whatever he can find in his hands, he’s going to use it to bang down your door,” Reina said. “We’re not safe in the building. He walks around naked. We got children that live in the building.”
Leonia Clemente, who called police after Orozco swung a hammer at her door, put it simply.
“Honestly, it’s torture. Every day is something new. We can’t come in and out of the hallways,” she said. “So we can sleep at night. It’s very scary because I have kids, you know, I have a granddaughter.”
Police told The New York Post the suspect was arrested twice in April — once for criminal mischief after breaking a neighbor’s doorbell camera, and once for menacing after swinging a metal railing at another tenant. He has been released and returned to the building each time.
An unnamed neighbor summed up what every resident in the building is living with.
“He stands in the hallways, out of his mind, naked sometimes,” the neighbor said.
The case has gone viral — a symbol of a broken Democratic system that lets dangerous lunatics terrorize working families while courts, landlords, and police fail to act.
For the families of the Bronx apartment building, they have no choice but to live the nightmare.
