The 2026 Academy Awards brought Hollywood’s outspoken “woke” stars to the Dolby Theatre Sunday night for a night of glitz, glamor, and self-congratulation.
By Monday morning, photos told a different story about the millionaires and liberal climate activists.
Matt Neglia, editor-in-chief of film website Next Best Picture, snapped a photo of the Dolby Theatre after the crowd cleared out and posted it to X with a simple caption: “Clean up on aisle ALL #Oscars.”
The image spread fast. As of Monday, it had been viewed more than 5.4 million times.
It showed rows of seats littered with discarded water bottles, snack wrappers, food containers, and other trash discarded across the floor and left on chairs throughout the theater. Attendees had been given snack packs during the show, and almost every single one threw their trash on the ground without a second thought.

The backlash online was swift.
“The kind of people who expect others to clean up after them. Unseen and unthanked,” wrote one user.
“‘Save the mountains, keep them clean, blah blah blah’… but look at the mess they leave,” wrote another. “Nobody’s buying it anymore. As the saying goes: A lion is revealed by where it lies.”
“Just look at the hypocrisy — ‘Save the Planet’ my ass! You people, that’s right — you people are nothing but a bunch of SLOBS! Trash and filth left behind by the over blown media apparatus known as ‘talent.’ What a bunch of pigs!”
Another was very blunt: “Rich people leaving their dirt for poor people as always.”
When the lights went down after they lectured America about being “woke,” Hollywood’s liberals left little doubt about how they really felt about people.
Left-wing millionaires leave the poor with a mop and a trash bag to clean up, while they climb back aboard their private jets.
