[Watch] Iran’s command bunker hit by 100 bombs

Approximately 50 Israeli Air Force fighter jets dropped around 100 bombs on Friday that destroyed the underground command bunker built beneath the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s secretive compound in the heart of Tehran, the Israel Defense Forces announced.

And they just released a stunning video of the deadly strike.

The bunker, which stretched across multiple city blocks and contained numerous entry points and meeting rooms for senior Iranian regime officials, was designed to serve as Khamenei’s emergency command center during wartime.

It became his tomb. Khamenei was killed on February 28 in the opening strike of a joint U.S.-Israeli operation inside his compound. His death was confirmed by the Iranian government on March 1.

According to the IDF, following Khamenei’s assassination, senior regime officials continued using the bunker underneath the compound to coordinate Iran’s military attacks to the ongoing campaign.

Friday’s strike was designed to eliminate that capability entirely.

“The underground compound was created by the regime as a base for advancing military activities and its extremist ideologies against the State of Israel and the Western world,” the IDF said in a statement.

The IDF credited its Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 8200 and Unit 9900 — the IDF’s signals and visual intelligence units — with mapping the complex over a years-long effort that made the precision strike possible.

Aerial footage released by the IDF shows waves of bombs striking the site, with thick plumes of black smoke rising above the streets of Tehran. Witnesses on the ground described the strikes as particularly intense, with explosions shaking homes across the city.

The bunker strike was part of a broader wave of attacks on Iran’s capital Friday, a “broad-scale wave of strikes” targeting regime forces and military infrastructure. Explosions were also reported near the Iranian city of Kermanshah, home to multiple Iranian missile bases. The IDF said its strikes have already destroyed most of Iran’s air defenses and missile launchers.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned Friday that American firepower was “about to surge dramatically,” as B-2 bombers began dropping heavy bunker-busting munitions on deeply buried Iranian missile sites.
