Be careful what you wish for — or vote for.
According to lifelong residents of New York City, that’s exactly what is happening under the leadership of newly-elected socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
After his stunning election, residents across the Big Apple are now taking to social media to showcase exactly what is happening to their beloved city under Mamdani’s leadership.
And the footage is not good.
That’s because just one month into Mamdani’s term, folks are furious.
Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport went viral for showcasing what Manhattan’s Upper East Side area now looks like.
According to Rapaport, the mostly affluent area of the city has never been in such disrepair.
Rappaport posted a video to X documenting mountains of un-shoveled snow and hazardous street and sidewalk conditions consuming the city.
A week after the snowstorm and this is what we got Zoron the Shoveler!
Filthy black snow, garbage soup, ice rinks on every corner, cars buried like fossils.
People slipping, breaking ankles, nobody shoveling, nobody salting, nobody doing SH*T.
This is New York City.

Fellow actor Debra Messing also documented that streets across Manhattan are still covered in filthy snow despite no snow falling in the Big Apple for nearly a week — something that she’s never experienced while living in New York until Mamdani’s election.
Sitting in a taxi trying to get to an appointment. Should take 20 minutes, we are at an hour and ten minutes and counting. The streets are a disaster. It hasn’t snowed in 5 days and the streets still haven’t been cleared. Poor ambulance sitting in aessentially a parking lot with… pic.twitter.com/1FzbguGkeL

Meanwhile, the New York Post reported that Mamdani’s mayoral residence looked pristine — despite a state of disrepair only blocks away.
The Post also reported that in some places on the Upper East Side, which is one of the wealthiest parts of the city, the garbage was eight feet high despite being close Mamdani’s present home at Gracie Mansion.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw yesterday — a whole army of sanitation workers plowing and shoveling every bit of snow off of that side of the street,” local Nick Rivers told The Post over the weekend as he walked his black Lab along a littered sidewalk near the mayor’s residence.
“Clean as a whistle for the mayor,” Rivers said citing the appearance of Gracie Mansion.
Meanwhile, a group of protesters gathered outside Gracie Mansion late Sunday shouting at Mamdani over a bullhorn.
“We voted for you, Zohran. We advocated for you, Zohran. We advocated for you,” one person can be heard shouting.
“You lied, Zohran. Shame, Zohran!”
🚨 Mamdani getting heckled by his voters already! That was quick! 😂
“That's right, we know about your mom. Now listen. We was with you, Zohran. We voted for you, Zohran. We advocated for you, Zohran. We advocated for you.

In response, Mamdani actually responded by pleading ignorance to the whole situation.
“I’m new to the job,” the mayor said.
“I know the burdens will get heavier, but right now I struggle to imagine how it could be better.”
