Just days after appearing on a televised townhall with CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss about Turning Point USA and the murder of her husband Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk has suddenly ceased operations at her late husband’s organization.
Erika Kirk has announced on social media that she intends to meet privately with commentator Candace Owens marking the first direct conversation between the two after a period of public discussion and differing perspectives that emerged after her late husband’s death.
Kirk shared the update in a brief statement on X yesterday, saying both women had agreed to pause all public commentary until after the meeting which is scheduled to take place today.
Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15. @RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you.

“Candace Owens and I are meeting for a private, in-person discussion on Monday, December 15,” Erika said.
“@RealCandaceO and I have agreed that public discussions, livestreams, and tweets are on hold until after this meeting. I look forward to a productive conversation. Thank you,” Erika added.
The planned discussion between Erika and Owens, who is a former Turning Point USA employee, comes on the heels of mounting tensions over conspiracy theories over Charlie Kirk’s death online in a more thoughtful and personal setting.
During last week’s CBS town hall, Erika expressed the emotional toll of widespread online speculation surrounding her husband’s passing, “Stop. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. Stop.” when asked what she had to say to people making unfounded claims.
“You’re sick. He’s a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter,” she said, responding to a question from Weiss about the people who justified or celebrated his killing.
“You want to watch, in high-res, the video of my husband being murdered and laugh, and say he deserves it? There’s something very sick in your soul. And I pray that God saves you,” Kirk said.
“I pray, because that is what is so wrong.”
Erika also addressed the ongoing speculation and unfounded claims on “Outnumbered” last week, saying: “When you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my Charlie Kirk Show family, when you go after the people that I love, and you’re making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love because somehow they’re in on this, no.”
Kirk said the conspiracy theorists have taken “nothing” from her, telling Fox News’ Harris Faulkner she doesn’t have the time to “address the noise.”
“My silence does not mean that I am complacent. My silence does not mean that somehow Turning Point USA and all of the hand-picked staff that loved my husband and my husband loved them is somehow in on it. We are busy building,” Kirk said.
The relationship between Erika Kirk and Owens has deteriorated sharply in recent months, despite their earlier history of collaboration and personal friendship.
Charlie Kirk, who founded Turning Point USA, was shot and killed during a campus event in Utah in September.
