Fani Willis is in big trouble… with Lindsey Graham?! (yes, really)

Sen. Lindsey Graham told Fox News that he plans to sue Fani Willi, Jack Smith, and the Department of Justice for tens of millions of dollars after learning his phone records were seized as part of Smith’s investigation into the January 6 Capitol riot — and he’s got a very, very strong case.

“My phone records were seized as part of this. I am tired of this. The third leading DOJ lawyer left to work for Alvin Bragg in Manhattan,” Graham said. “What was that all about? Fani Willis’ boyfriend spent a day in the White House talking to the Jack Smith people. What was that all about?”

“I think this was worse than Watergate,” he said. “An effort to destroy President Trump and charge him with crimes that are just ridiculous and come after people like me. I’m not gonna put up with this crap any more.”

“I’m gonna sue. I’m gonna sue the hell out of them for tens of million of dollars,” he vowed. “I went to Fani Willis in Atlanta, spent $1.2 million on that bullsh*t.”

“Now I found out they spied on my phone records as a senator and as a private citizen? I’m gonna sue! If you don’t sue, they’ll keep doing it,” Graham said.

Graham told Fox News’ Sean Hannity that he planned to sue for “tens of millions of dollars” to send a message.

Graham’s comments came after reports last month that Smith tracked the private communications and phone records of nearly a dozen Republican lawmakers as part of the controversial “Arctic Frost” investigation by the Biden administration.

Sens. Marsha Blackburn, Ron Johnson, Josh Hawley, Cynthia Lummis, Bill Hagerty, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville, and Rep. Mike Kelly were all reportedly spied on as well.

“Arctic Frost” was opened inside the FBI on April 13, 2022. Smith was appointed as special counsel to take over the probe in November 2022.

Graham said the investigations were clearly designed to stop Trump’s political comeback.

“Here’s what I believe. If he had never announced he was going to run for president, none of this would have happened. They were trying to destroy his comeback,” Graham said.

“This was all orchestrated by Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, Fani Willis, Letitia James to destroy this man so he could not win in 2024. I’ve seen this movie before. I am going to look at what happened to me and my fellow senators … and if they did this without good reason and without cause, I’m going to sue the crap out of these people,” he said.

“Whoever I can sue on behalf of the future of people who will come after me. We cannot allow the abuse of power to go unchecked. One guy went to jail for a year in Crossfire Hurricane,” Graham said. “Comey is finally being looked at after all these years.”

“If they don’t pay a price now, they’ll keep doing it.”

“And if you think I’m going to settle this thing for a million dollars? No. I want to make it so painful no one ever does this again,” Graham had warned previously.

Graham had previous legal battles with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who subpoenaed him to testify before a special grand jury in Georgia investigating efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. Graham fought the subpoena for months, arguing it violated the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause.

A federal appeals court ruled in October 2022 that Graham could be questioned on his personal conversations with Trump and Georgia officials, but not on his professional communications related to the legislature. Graham ultimately testified before the grand jury but was not charged in the case.

“The goal is to make sure that, in the future, the cost of using subpoenas as political weapons is far too high. If not, the government will continue down this road,” Graham said. “To those who suggest the government can’t be sued when it violates your rights, I couldn’t disagree more.”
