Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter Chelsea has been sentenced to prison after a Wisconsin judge revoked her probation on October 22, according to court documents.
The 28-year-old violated the terms of her probation due to sexual assault allegations and failed to show adequate progress in her drug treatment program, according to a court official from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court.
“The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program,” a court filing stated.
Chelsea will serve her sentence at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
O’Donnell asked for prayers on Instagram Wednesday, posting a childhood photo of her daughter.

“I have compassion for those struggling with addiction — Chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children. We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed,” O’Donnell said in a statement.
Chelsea was sentenced to six years of probation in January 2025 after being arrested three times in 2024. All three arrests involved drug charges.
Authorities charged Chelsea with two counts of felony possession of methamphetamine along with a felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs, according to court records. She was also charged with two counts of possession/illegally obtaining prescription drugs and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Chelsea’s November 2024 arrest occurred after police in Niagara, Wisconsin, pulled over a car for loud exhaust. Authorities recovered a “clear smoking device” on Chelsea’s person. Residue found inside the device tested positive for methamphetamine.
At the time, Chelsea was out on bond for separate charges including child neglect and drug possession. After being taken to Marinette County Jail, a prescription pill bottle was also found in Chelsea’s possession. The bottle contained a handful of pills along with a crystal-like substance
O’Donnell addressed her daughter’s arrest on Instagram in December, saying she hoped Chelsea gets “the help she needs.”
“so yes this is true – after being bailed out by her birth mother – chelsea was arrested again – and is facing many charges related to her drug addiction – we all hope she is able to get the help she needs to turn her life around,” the TV star wrote on December 3
Chelsea’s January probation sentence came as part of a plea deal that stayed an 18-month prison sentence. The conditions of her probation included staying clear of substances and alcohol, avoiding known street dealers, maintaining complete sobriety, and possessing no firearms.
Chelsea is O’Donnell’s adopted daughter. O’Donnell adopted Chelsea in 1997. The two have had a rocky relationship over the years.
In August 2015, O’Donnell used social media to ask for help when Chelsea, then 17, went missing for a week. She updated fans of Chelsea’s safe return on X, writing at the time, “Chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody — thank u all for the help and light.” A New Jersey man was arrested for housing Chelsea and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Chelsea has four young children: daughters Skylar Rose, 6; Riley, 4; Avery Lynn, 3; and a son, Atlas, 2.
O’Donnell, who is best known for her longstanding feud with President Donald Trump, announced in March that she had moved to Ireland with her 12-year-old child following Trump’s reelection.
