Sean Hannity reveals Trump’s weight loss secret

Fox News host Sean Hannity inadvertently disclosed one of President Donald Trump’s weight loss strategies during an interview with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., revealing the 78-year-old president has been watching his diet.

And that includes getting rid of unnecessary calories.

“If he has a burger now, he usually doesn’t have it with a bun,” Hannity told RFK, Jr. at a Florida Steak ‘n Shake restaurant that aired Tuesday night.

Appearing to immediately recognize he might have shared Trump’s private information, Hannity added, “I hope I’m not revealing something I shouldn’t.”

The revelation came after Kennedy asked about Trump’s significant weight loss.

“I think he’s lost 30 pounds,” Kennedy noted, and was surprised at learning about Trump’s diet. “Oh, I didn’t know that he was actually changing his diet.”

The conversation between Hannity and Kennedy took place as part of a broader discussion of Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, highlighted by the restaurant chain’s switch to beef tallow instead of seed oils for its french fries – a change Kennedy has promoted across America for health purposes.

While discussing the president’s eating habits, Kennedy didn’t hold back about Trump’s typical food choices.

“I have to say this… and even with all the — can I say — crap that he eats,” Kennedy remarked, later adding that Trump was lucky to have a “genetic system” that Hannity described as “second to none.”

Trump, a well-documented fast food enthusiast, has previously said his weight loss to his busy schedule rather than dietary changes.

“I did it the hard way. I work,” Trump told Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade in January 2024. “I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to eat very much. I’m not able to sit down and eat like a person like you – you can sit down and eat. Me, it’s a little bit tougher.”

The president’s love of McDonald’s, particularly their Quarter Pounder cheeseburgers, is well established. During his presidential campaign, he famously worked a shift at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s, taking drive-through orders and serving french fries.

His former aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie once described a typical Trump dinner as including two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a chocolate malt.

In November, Kennedy was photographed on Trump’s plane alongside a buffet of McDonald’s meals.

“The stuff that he eats is really, like, bad,” Kennedy admitted later on a podcast. “Campaign food is always bad, but the food that goes onto that airplane is like just poison.”

First Lady Melania Trump has reportedly played a role in the president’s healthier eating habits, helping him avoid the extensive dessert buffet at Mar-a-Lago, which includes more than two dozen homemade cakes, puddings, and tortes.

Dr. Bruce Aronwald, Trump’s physician, had noted that in November 2023 the president had “reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity.”

Trump is scheduled to undergo his first physical examination of his second term next month at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the White House announced in early March.
